Securing the post you want

Job Description

A job description is normally included with an application form. The job description provides potential applicants and the eventual post holder with an outline of duties and specific responsibilities.

Typical Job Description
 
Description Explanation
Title The post holders title e.g. Re-enablement nurse
Salary grade The salary attached to the post which is often a range i.e. £18,000 to £21,000
Purpose/aim A description of the purpose or aim of the job in one sentence
Responsible to The line manager or managers to which the post holder will be immediately and ultimately responsible to
Rresponsible for Title of the post/s the post holder will have responsibility for i.e. your staff if any
Duties Starting with the elements the post holder has sole responsibility for, that take up most of the time. Following with elements that the post holder is involved in but not solely responsible for. A statement alluding to “any other duties as required” will normally be included
Special requirements These might include the requirement for a current diving licence or the need to work shifts
