Word Level Work
Ages 4-10

Word level work is an important part of the Literacy Hour by forming the basis by which children become confident, fluent readers and writers.

The following two books help children understand the relationship between sounds, writing and spelling patterns, and in developing vocabulary and practising handwriting skills.

More than just a word list book, it contains words to assist children with spelling in their writing at Key Stage 2. It can be used both as a personal spelling list and as an activity based resource to practice spelling skills. Word Whiz highlights words children most often misspell and is thumb indexed for quick reference. Excellent as a record of children’s spelling.
