Complete novels covering Book Bands Lime to Magenta with extra activities for enhancing comprehension, writing, analytical and investigative skills, taught through books which cover a range of genre and are exciting to read.
- A variety of Genre to teach higher order reading skills from reading age 8 – 12.
- Each book is supported by a teacher’s book called ’Questioning the Text‘ which includes:
- A before you read section.
- While you read section which highlighting vocabulary to watch out for.
- And comprehension questions to assess the pupils understanding of the text including inferential questions.
- Many titles also have a support book called ‘The Writers Craft’. This takes extracts from the books and enables pupils to develop their writing skills through a variety of activities (fully photocopiable) including:
- Shared writing opportunities.
- Proof reading.
- Editing.
- Share ideas and justifications.
- Examine author’s style and attempt to write the next section of the text.
