Can you provide an index for my custom reader?
Yes we can offer this service, though it may influence the price of the finished product (£1-2 extra per reader) and the timing as indexing needs manual intervention for it to be done well. Please feel free to ask about the options for your project.
Can my printed reader be published in full-colour?
Yes, we do offer this service and have now published full-colour custom readers. However colour printing has a significant impact on the price, and only becomes reasonable at around 1000 copies - this does not have to be for one year sale, but could cover 2 or 3 years worth of use. Please feel free to ask about the options for your project.
Do I have a choice of covers for my printed reader?
Yes, we now have a range of covers from which you can choose, and a colour spectrum to select from. You can view the covers from these pdf files - please ask your for more information and details of available colours or contact
Can I publish material specifically for custom purposes (chapters for example) rather than a whole textbook?
Material to complement one of our existing textbooks
This could be of interest as a custom item.
The material would have to be delivered electronically (word file or pdf)
You would receive a contract for the material to be published.
For further information please contact
Can my McGraw-Hill custom product include material from other publishers?
This may be possible under the following conditions:
The lecturer must clear permissions with the other publisher, stating that it is for inclusion in a McGraw-Hill custom publication
Permission fees would need to be paid by the University/Department
The custom product must be a minimum of 50% McGraw-Hill content
What can I choose from?
All McGraw-Hill textbooks published in the US and Europe
in all fields - on the database Primis, are all pages from books published in
the last four years, and selected titles from earlier
All Open University Press titles from the last four years
Business cases from Harvard, INSEAD, Darden, Thunderbird,
Ivey
Professional
business books
- topical and relevant extra material
- debate materials
are available for teaching staff, eg. test banks, videos, PowerPoints, and much more
You can mix and match whatever you choose from
all of the options above. If there is a McGraw-Hill title that you are considering
that is not on Primis, it can be added, so please let us know.
How do I get started? Please contact . They will be happy to help you throughout the
project.
How does the process of selecting material work?
Together
with your representative you decide on the best way to proceed. This could be
with you telling the rep exactly what you require, and them handling matters from
then on, or working together on Primis to select the material online. Either
way, the selected material will be sent to you to review before a final decision
is made to adopt the item.
What delivery methods are available for the material
I've selected? Again, the best method of delivery can be decided on together
with the rep. Options are as follows:
printed reader
printed reader shrink-wrapped with another textbook
CD shrink-wrapped with another textbook
teacher's notes shrink-wrapped with textbook and/or
printed reader
pdf integrated in CMS
standalone CD
Depending on the selected
method, the material will either be supplied via the usual bookstore, or direct
to the department.
What does the selection and delivery process for custom
publishing involve?
Can I add my own material to a McGraw-Hill custom published
item? Yes - please discuss with your rep what and where material should
be added. Please note that your own material does not necessarily have to be in
English.
How much will my selection cost? Given the nature
of custom publishing, every project is individually costed. Please let us know,
and we will be happy to cost whatever you have in mind. Bear in mind too that
there are a variety of options for delivery of the same material which may also
vary the cost. We aim to get a quote to you within two working days.
How long will it all take? Once the material
has been selected and you are happy to adopt that material, and the means of delivery
has been confirmed, then the following times apply:
printed reader - 2 months
material on CD - 2-4 weeks
pdf - 1 week
Am I obliged to use the material for more than one year/course?
Adopting
a McGraw-Hill custom product for your course is the same as with any regular textbook
adoption - there is no obligation to use it longer than you feel is appropriate.
What will my printed reader look like? Essential
like the textbook it was selected from, in two-colour. The cover can be made to
specifically fit your course, with the relevant details included.
Who can I contact if I have questions? Please
contact your - they are your consultant throughout the whole process.
